Microsoft Outlook

WHAT IS MICROSOFT OUTLOOK?

Microsoft Outlook is an application primarily used for sending and receiving emails. However, Microsoft Outlook also allows you to manage various types of personal data, such as calendar appointments, tasks, contacts, and notes. Microsoft Outlook is not free; you must purchase it or pay a subscription to use it. It includes the standard features associated with email applications, such as Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, and Deleted Items.

Microsoft Outlook was introduced to the public in 1997 and was included with Microsoft Office 97. Outlook Express was included with Windows XP (and was the only free version). Since then, Microsoft has released numerous updated versions, each offering more features than the last.

Microsoft Outlook is included in many of the Microsoft Office application suites, including various versions of Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, and 2016, and Microsoft 365. However, not all versions include Outlook.

To use Microsoft Outlook, it must be installed on the device, creating an Outlook email address, which will be a free Microsoft email.

With Microsoft Outlook, you can sync your personal data across your phone, tablet, and other devices, as long as you can sign in to them with your Microsoft account. You can organize your email into folders based on categories you create (work, personal, etc.), automatically send "Out of Office" messages, and flag emails for follow-up. You can also delay sending emails and request receipts.

Microsoft Outlook is used for emails and also for personal information management, and is generally part of the Office suite of applications, although it can be purchased separately as a single application.

More than just an email service

The wide variety of options offered by Microsoft Outlook means that, although it's usually seen as a professional email service, it also facilitates other tasks, such as using a calendar, task manager, contacts, notes, and journal. Furthermore, you can sync your devices for complete convenience.

The Outlook Calendar item can be used to keep appointments and schedule meetings, and it can be synchronized with other Outlook users' calendars. The calendar can be useful for tracking important events and dates, particularly when used with sound alerts and alarms.

The tasks option is also useful for remembering things you need to do, with the ability to set an alarm.

The Outlook Contacts feature can store the address, email, and contact information of your friends, colleagues, and family members. Messages can also be sent directly from the contact list.
