Initially, the deadline for closing&nbsp;<strong>Google+<\/strong>&nbsp;It was going to conclude next August, however, a new bug that exposed the data of 52 million users, which was discovered in December, has caused the company to bring forward the closure to this month of April.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why is Google+ shutting down?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite&nbsp;<strong>Google+<\/strong>&nbsp;It has never won the hearts of users, resisted for years to end its social network and has tried everything to win the public&#039;s favor.<br>However, security problems have ultimately brought the service down. Last October, Google announced that a security flaw was detected in one of its APIs in March.&nbsp;<strong>Google+<\/strong>. This vulnerability, active since 2015, exposed users&#039; private information to third-party applications. The bug was patched immediately, and the tech giant claimed it found no evidence that any developer had exploited it\u2026but this fact, combined with the social network&#039;s low usage rate, was the final straw that led to the decision to shut it down.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When will Google+ close?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The company has shared the detailed timeline it will follow to dismantle&nbsp;<strong>Google+<\/strong>. Below you can see the actions that Google+ will be taking starting this week:<br><strong>February 4<\/strong>Since last Monday, it is no longer possible to create new Google+ profiles, pages, communities, or events.<br><strong>From February 4th to March 7th<\/strong>Blogger will remove the Google+ commenting feature from February 4th, and it will be removed for other sites as well on March 7th.<br><strong>Next few weeks<\/strong>Google+ login buttons will stop working on apps and websites. Some will be replaced by a Google login button.<br><strong>March<\/strong>Community owners and moderators will be able to download and save a wealth of data about their community. This data is already available, but starting in March, additional information will be accessible, such as author, content, and photos for each post.<br><strong>April<\/strong>All Google+ comments will be removed from all sites and all consumer accounts will be closed.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How can we back up our data?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The process of removing all content will begin on April 2nd.&nbsp;<strong>Google+<\/strong>. This means that all the photos and videos we have in&nbsp;<strong>Google+<\/strong>&nbsp;They will be deleted. To keep them, we can download all our content, circles, communities, broadcasts, etc.&nbsp;<strong>until April 2nd<\/strong>.
