We are renewing our collaboration with Manos Unidas for 2024

This year, our collaboration with United Hands It is located within the Empowering vulnerable populations by promoting human rights in Dajabón and Monte Cristi (Dominican Republic). This country has historically received migrants from Haiti and neighboring countries. This reality has generated cultural and ethnic diversity and has also presented challenges related to integration, discrimination, and access to basic rights for migrants and their descendants, who face limited access to education, healthcare, and employment. Regarding women's rights, although progress has been made in legislation and the promotion of equality, challenges remain concerning access to justice, the gender pay gap, discrimination, gender-based violence, and the alarming increase in femicides.

What is the current situation?

The country experiences extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods and droughts These impacts disproportionately affect the most vulnerable communities, and this situation is exacerbated by the unstoppable development of extractive mining, which is causing negative impacts on people's livelihoods, biodiversity, water, and the environment in general. Education.

What are the objectives of this project?
