Before installing WiFi…Conduct a preliminary study

The internet is the primary tool for any business, which is why the Wi-Fi signal must be excellent and reach all areas equally to guarantee the company's full performance. However, sometimes the signal is inconsistent, causing problems with operations and productivity, such as difficulties downloading files, playing videos, or simply affecting web browsing. Imagine the problem we might face if we need to connect to management programs or intranets for our daily tasks and have an insufficient Wi-Fi connection.

At Apen, we conduct a preliminary study before installing a WiFi zone, with the firm objective of understanding the real needs of each company and focusing primarily on security. In this regard, we analyze WiFi coverage to determine signal absorption and reflection caused by the various materials used in walls, partitions, and office furniture. Apen performs this preliminary work to obtain objective data on the company's actual needs, identifying the best locations for access points.

When we conduct a preliminary study in the company, we have tools that allow us to show the WiFi coverage that exists in a building or office, in order to analyze all the access points that are required and detect the necessary security configurations in the available networks.

Knowing the dimensions of the workspace you'll be providing WiFi coverage to is just as important as knowing how many people might be connected simultaneously. A home WiFi zone, like the one we have at home, is nothing like the WiFi setup in our company or business. Many businesses use the same WiFi installation we have at home, and this doesn't meet their work needs; it can even be expensive because we're not placing the access points correctly without professional advice.

If we have a pre-existing Wi-Fi installation, we can identify blind spots, shadow areas, or areas of low signal quality and look for potential improvements, or even extend coverage in critical areas. Although coverage studies usually focus only on received signal strength and, in some cases, the signal-to-noise ratio, it's sometimes necessary to go further. In these cases, it's useful to know the actual performance of the network at a given point. We can analyze the highest real-world transmission speed at a specific location and conduct coverage studies based on, for example, the video or voice quality achievable at that point, the transfer speed, and so on.

WiFi for large facilities and for offices

We carry out professional WiFi installations for companies, buildings, hotels, clinics, schools, events… We study the requested coverage according to the need and present a complete report that allows analysis and decision-making for the subsequent installation.

Installing professional WiFi solutions requires a series of specific requirements, which are completely different from installing them in home environments. Furthermore, we ensure reduced costs and guarantee the widest possible coverage. You can contact APEN without obligation for advice on your WiFi zone.
